We've been doing our share of visiting museums and gardens.

At the Museum of Jewish Heritage, we saw the special exhibit about vacations. There were two photos of us in the exhibit. We visited several other museums as well, but none of them had photos of us.

Vanderbilt Mansion, former home of Fredrick W. Vanderbilt.
It is the smallest of "The Commodore's" sons' homes. With only 56 rooms, it has fewer rooms than his brother's 'Biltmore' has bathrooms. Then again, Fredrick only inherited 10 million dollars; far less than his brother.

Left over from a previous home on the site, the Vanderbilt Mansion has what maybe the oldest extant formal garden in the U.S. It has three levels. The lowest, the Rose Garden, is below.
