We're not retired. Having a good time is a full time job.
Hamentashen are a traditional pastry for the holiday of Purim. The family again assembled to bake these treats. This year's baking was done in our house.
Sarah takes a 'baby break' from her chores. In the background is the beginning of the pile of cooling hamantashen. By the end of the session, there were about five hundred of the fruits of their labor surrounded by the pastry of their labor.

Allen and Sarah took an early retirement in 1996; he in his early 50s, she in her late 40s. They had been touring during the summers for the previous 25 years and, upon retirement, began doing so for much of the year, but their trips became shorter after the birth of their first grandchild. They have visited the 50 states, all the provinces of Canada and several countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
